Okonkwo was forced back to his parent club for treatment when suffering a jaw injury, but has been cleared to retrace steps to SToK Racecourse – much to the delight of Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson, who has also lost Rob Lainton to knee surgery.

Wrexham supporters are delighted to see Okonkwo in North Wales, with an official social media post announcing that the 22-year-old is “back in the building” being flooded with messages urging Reynolds and McElhenney to make the funds available for a permanent transfer in the January window.

Okonkwo is only tied to a contract at Arsenal through to the summer of 2024, meaning that some big decisions on his future are fast approaching. He has caught the eye while at Wrexham – with his efforts being noted elsewhere – but there may be a chance for the Red Dragons to do a deal at some stage.
